it. is. cold.

It is negative 14 degrees outside - WITHOUT the wind chill factored in. The kids are on their second "snow day" from school. It seems that the buses will not start. It's cold out there!

Above is a digi layout that I did as a guest designer for Triple the Sketch this week. I used the Creative Memories StoryBook Creator Plus and the For Her Digital Kit. Photos were taken by my talented and very generous friend Susannah. She has provided me with so many great photographs to play around with and I am LOVING getting to do some girly stuff. :)

Oh, and guess what....I had a different layout ready for Triple the Sketch but Scrapbook Trends Magazine requested to publish it for their June 2009 issue. I'm really excited because this will be my first time in their magazine. Yay!

Well, I'm off to spend some time with my kiddos and maybe get some scrapping done today. Have a great weekend and STAY WARM! :)

All is well. Yesterday was our appt. with Andrew's neurosurgeon. When we arrived, she was also concerned about the bulge that has formed on his head. She believed it to be one of two things - a) an overgrowth or excess of bone that grew after his surgery which would be a cosmetic issue or b) a ridge in the skull indicating inter- cranial pressure which would require a second surgery. After examining skull x-rays she believes the problem to be an excess of bone. We were so relieved to hear that. At this time, a second surgery is not required. Yay!! Of course, we will continue to monitor the bulge for any growth or changes. Also, she addressed our worries about Drew's speech delay. We were given a referral to an in-home therapy program. They will be able to evaluate any developmental delays.

What wonderful news! Thank you to all who have continued to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers! (hey, and Aunt Barb, feel free to comment more often. lol - love ya!)

In scrappy news.....I created my very first digital layout the other night (above). Wow, how fun! I really enjoyed it! I used a photo of a precious little guy from our church that was taken by my super talented photograpy friend, Susannah Waechter. All of the supplies are Creative Memories, including the awesome software that I used, StoryBook Creator Plus. CM, by the way has a free version of this that can be downloaded! The kit I used is here.


Also, I received a blog award from my two of my incredibly talented friends, Crystal and Beth. Thank you ladies!!!

back to "reality"

Winter break is over. Every year, it seems to be disappear in the blink of an eye. The kids are back in school and Nick is back to work. It is sooooo very quiet in my house today. ;)

Above are a couple of layouts that I worked on during the break. All products are from my Memorable Seasons DT kit. The papers, stickers and rubons are all from the October Afternoon Weathervane Collection.

In family news....Nick and I are going to be traveling to Indianapolis on Wednesday. Andrew is scheduled to see his neurosurgeon to check out a "bulge" that has formed on the top of his head. Please pray that this is something that is not serious and will not indicate the necessity of a second surgery. I will definitely keep you updated. Thank you so much for everyone's continued prayer for our little guy. :)
