i think...

...that despite my Spring-like projects above - winter is here. Brrr. It is cold outside. I am sitting here in my slippers and sweater with the mandatory cup of coffee. I can hear the hum of my little portable heater behind me.

The "i am glad" layout uses one of the many beautiful photos that my photographer friend Susannah has let me use for some Design Team work. She is truly amazing at what she does (my photo of the layout DOES NOT do it justice). If you'd like to see some of her work she has a super inspiring blog HERE. And if you're in the area, she does awesome shoots for reasonable prices.

The card is for the Sketch This DT challenge #75. It's hard to believe that I've been on that team for almost 30 weeks now. It's been a blast!! I love Janelle's sketches.

Yesterday I was given this blog award by my good friend Jocelyn. She is such a sweetheart and I have really enjoyed getting to know her through her blog. I so love all my blogging friends. I have been truly blessed with great relationships through "blog hopping". ;)

Thank you so much Jocelyn! Now I will pass it on to seven of my well deserving blogging friends.

So, it's Friday, anyone have any great plans this weekend? My husband and I are going out with a couple of friends tonight. I am really excited. It's been a LONG time since we've gone out without the kiddos and been able to be "Nick and Jen" instead of "Dad and Mom". Ya know?
Have a great weekend!!

So, somebody turned on the winter switch last night. I woke up to 8 inches of snow. The boys have a 2 hour school delay and I'm honestly wondering if there might be a cancellation. The snow is still coming down.

on my doorstep...

Lookie at what landed on my doorstep last week. I didn't get to open it up and play until the weekend but it was so worth the wait! I won this baby at Summer CHA this July. Thank you Making Memories!

Here's a card/tag /ornament set with the new MM Fa La La line. I used the Slice to cut out the tag and the ornament scalloped base and framing. Kind of puts you in the mood for Christmas, eh? :)

brrr...it's cold outside

Above are a couple of my Thanksgiving layouts for Creative Memories. You can find the product list and instuctions in the CM Project Center - HERE and HERE.

It's hard to believe that last week we could still run around in shorts. This week there is frost on the ground. ick. I really dislike the cold. Summer is definitely my season.

Speaking of seasons...Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. Do you like Turkey? I myself am a fan of all the sides that come with Thanksgiving dinner...mmmm....stuffing, sweet potatoe casserole, broccoli rice casserole, cranberry sauce...yummy. What is your fave holiday food?

***ETA - If you haven't voted already, make sure you visit Lotus Paperie and vote for you favorite finalist! *hint, hint*

Oh, and by the way....if you go to the Project Center Home, you will see lots more fun stuff and even a layout that I did for Thanksgiving featured as one of November's Quick Projects. Happy Browsing! :)

halloween

First of all here's my card for Sketch This Challenge #73. I used the October Afternoon Hometown line.
Last night was trick or treating and WOW, was it gorgeous outside! It stayed in the 60's and it was just wonderful not to be fending off the cold rain with umbrellas or just freezing our butts off like usual. ;)
This year we brought all of the past years Halloween costumes out from the crawl space and let the kids "recycle". There were two HUGE boxes for the kids to choose from and they really had a lot of fun "shopping" from home and talking about when each one of them had worn certain costumes and laughing at the memories. Here is what they chose...

my little penguin

my mummy

he calls himself the "pizza delivery guy"

my soldier

Our neighbor is a state trooper and came over with a surprise for the boys. The county bought brand new fingerprinting kits so he brought us one of the retired ones. They (especially Nick) are going to love playing with it.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! :)
